Singing in the rain

Daniel is trying to sing the song "Hey, Soul Sister" and Sarah is joining in with her little song and dance.

This is Sarah's first real day of walking instead of crawling.  I had to get her playing in the puddles and walking.  Notice they are not cold playing in the rain.  Such a different experience from rain in Utah, but they are enjoying it as anyone can tell.  Monday October 10th, 2011.

School has started again

Abby and Daniel on their first day of school back on August 22nd.

They were so excited. I was a little worried about letting Daniel go, being his first time and all, but he loves it. And I love it. That kid really needed to get out of the house to have some friends to play with. It isn't like it was in Utah were he had a few friends within a two minute drive. He has really been lacking friends since we got here, so has Abby, but they are both liking school. They can't wait to go each day.

Sarah has been moving and a grooving since she was able to sit up. We tried to catch it her latest moves on video, but this was the best we could get.

Our Big Buddy, Daniel, Turns Four.

Daniel and Abby with the mountain tunnel cake.

Daniel posing with his birthday shirt.

This is the cake that Daniel picked out for me to make. We had a lot of fun doing it. Chocolate cake on the top half and yellow cake on the bottom half. It took me 5 batches of frosting to finish it up. And it was worth it.

This little boy is a walking smile in our family. He has a laugh that makes you smile without even realizing it. He gets excited to see each family member every morning like he didn't see them at all the day before. He loves trains and Lighting McQueen, and now swords and gun like objects. His favorite thing in the world is to wrestle on the bed with Dad. He loves his dad and crys for him every time he is sent to time-outs. He cries out, "I want my daddy. He makes me feels better. I want my dad" in a very sad pathetic way. But really he is a mama's boy when he is hurt and wants to be comforted, outside of her sending him to timeouts, of course.
We love this boy. Happy Birthday, Buddy.

Funny Faces

Sarah loves the camera. This is her famous smile for the camera.

The face of a sad boy at the end of a tantrum.

A Day with Sarah

Daniel has a budding rival for keeping a little too busy.
After pulling apart some of the dishwasher, Sarah moved to the stool and got her hands in the silverware drawer on her tipy-toes.

Moments later, she finds a way to get on the kids little table. She often stands up to the tall bookshelf to the side and pulls things off.

Sarah had been using our plastic file box to climb up to the computer desk and clicks the mouse and bangs on the key board. So, we moved away from the desk, but Sarah climbed up anyway and had nothing to hang onto. She was feeling a bit stuck and pinned up against the wall.

She climbed up on the stool next to her high chair and somehow got into this position.

Daniel wanted to join in on the picture. Don't worry, we got her down right after this snap shot.

A couple of our messes this week

Of course, we have more than 2 messes a week, but I wanted to share a cute one and a the messiest one.
We discovered Sarah enjoys a good raspberry every now and then.

I personally learned not to heat a tortilla on the burner and then go cut your tomatoes for your lunch. I decided I should just stay by the burner and be patient.

Princess Sarah turned one year old

On June 20th, Sarah turned one. She is only crawling for now, which is good for mom. However, she can climb things that most crawlers can't climb. She loves to smile and get attention from the family, but stares at strangers like they are from another planet. She laughs a fake laugh when other people are talking and laughing, she just wants to be part of the fun. She LOVES her brother and sister. There is nothing more fun for her than a good wrestle on the couch or the big bed. She even growls. She is a miss smarty pants that knows when she is doing something she shouldn't and still tries to get away with it. But we LOVE her anyway.
Take a look at this birthday outfit, fit for a princess. Compliments of Aunt Beth.
(She is trying to put on Dan's sunglasses)

She actually enjoyed the wet rag mom was using to clean her up more than the cupcake.
The frosting on the cupcake was fun to play in, but the cake part didn't make it past her lips.
Take a look at that belly.
